Trinity Lutheran School Turns 135 – Lincoln
September 24 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm| $0.00
Trinity Lutheran Church and School will be celebrating the 135th Anniversary of the school on Sunday, September 24. To kick off this celebration, we will be holding a Tailgate Party in conjunction with the Huskers home game vs. Rutgers on Saturday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church Parking Lot at 724 S. 12th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Sunday celebration will be held at Trinity Lutheran School located at 1200 N. 56th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. We have a very special day planned for this celebration. The day will start with worship at the 10:30 a.m. church service held in the school gymnasium, where the Trinity Singers and God’s Little Love Bugs will praise the Lord and share their special gifts and talents during the service. We will have a luncheon at the school with old fashioned games, as well as additional fun activities for young children and the young at heart. Ice cream will also be available for those who attend.
Pastor Frederick Koenig founded Trinity Lutheran Church in November 1881 and founded Trinity Lutheran School shortly after in March 1882. Initially the school served only two children at its original location at 13th and H Street. Over time the church moved to its current location at 12th and H Street and due to its increased enrollment, the school was moved to its current location at 1200 North 56th Street. Over 135 years have passed since Trinity Lutheran Church and School originally began serving the public with its mission of “Connecting People to Christ in His Word and Love” and will continue to serve the people of Lincoln and the surrounding area for years to come.
